Brevo is the cheapest legitimate email platform a Pakistani business can start on: PKR 0 for 300 emails a day, about PKR 2,520 a month for 5,000 sends. The catch sits at the top. The ecommerce automation stack sits behind a USD 499 Professional plan — roughly PKR 139,720 a month. Stores that email weekly should price Omnisend or Klaviyo first.

Brevo — the French platform formerly called Sendinblue — is the default first email tool for Pakistani WooCommerce and Shopify stores, and for good reason: it prices by emails sent, not contacts stored, and its free tier is the most generous in the category. The teardown below is the pricing structure as of August 2026, converted at roughly PKR 280 to the US dollar. Its pricing behaves like a wedding hall in Lahore: the hall is cheap, and then every chair, cooler, and generator arrives as a separate line item.

What this gets right

The free plan is genuinely free. It allows 300 emails a day — about 9,000 a month — and stores up to 100,000 contacts, per Brevo’s pricing page. For a Faisalabad apparel store emailing twice a month, that storage policy is the whole ballgame: dormant subscribers cost nothing, so a list of 40,000 past customers sits in the account for free until a Ramadan or Eid campaign needs it. Most competitors charge per contact whether that contact opens, buys, or sleeps.

Send-based pricing rewards the seasonal sender. A store that mails its full list four times a year spends less on Brevo than on any contact-priced rival, because Brevo counts sends and the rivals count people. Starter at USD 9 (about PKR 2,520) for 5,000 sends and Standard at USD 18 (about PKR 5,040) cover the monthly programs of most single-store operations; Standard at 100,000 sends still costs only USD 139 (about PKR 38,920), according to Omnisend’s August 2026 pricing analysis.

Two smaller mercies deserve the invoice. Annual billing saves 10 percent, dropping Starter to USD 8.08 a month. Monthly plans can be paused for up to three months — useful for stores that go quiet after the winter wedding season ends.

Where this breaks

The automation cap comes first. Free and Starter plans include automation, but only for 2,000 contacts. A Karachi store with 6,000 subscribers cannot run a welcome flow for new signups on those tiers at all; the 4,001st contact simply never enters the sequence. The fix is Standard at USD 18 — or the wall described next.

The wall is the real problem. The full ecommerce stack — dynamic coupons, back-in-stock alerts, AI product recommendations, contact scoring, and pop-ups — sits only on the Professional plan, which starts at USD 499 a month for 150,000 sends. Omnisend’s analysis frames the jump precisely: at 100,000 monthly sends a Standard subscription costs USD 139, and needing the ecommerce features forces Professional at USD 499. That is an extra USD 360 a month, a 259 percent price increase, to keep sending the same volume with better automation. In PKR terms, the bill moves from about PKR 38,920 to about PKR 139,720 — for a feature set that Klaviyo and Omnisend include at entry prices.

Then there is the billing surprise. Exceed your plan’s contact or send limits and Brevo auto-upgrades the subscription instead of bouncing the campaign. Most teams miss this. The extra sends get delivered, the invoice quietly climbs, and the finance team finds out at month-end through the card statement — denominated in USD, converted to PKR at the bank’s rate, plus foreign transaction fees where the card charges them. Pakistani operations feel this harder than Western ones because a 5 percent card FX spread on a USD 499 plan is about PKR 7,000 a month of pure banking friction.

The hidden cost

The add-on shelf loads up fast. Removing Brevo branding from emails costs USD 12 a month on lower tiers. The Sales CRM modules start at USD 31 per seat per month. A dedicated IP address — worth considering once sends pass roughly 50,000 a month and deliverability gets serious — costs USD 251 a year, about PKR 70,280. None of these line items appear in the headline price a Pakistani owner sees when comparing tools.

WhatsApp sits outside the email plans entirely. Pakistan’s real inbox is WhatsApp, not email, so this matters more here than in most markets: paid plans include the first 1,000 WhatsApp messages a month free, and beyond that messages bill per credit at country-dependent rates. A COD-heavy store running order confirmations over WhatsApp should model those credits before committing, because they are priced separately from every email tier.

The last hidden cost is drift between tiers at scale. At 100,000 sends, Starter costs USD 82 and Standard USD 139 — but at 20,000 sends the gap is USD 32 versus USD 69, and at 250,000 sends Standard has no peer below Professional at USD 599. The ladder is steep and nonlinear, so the plan that fit at 10,000 sends is rarely the plan that fits at 40,000. Stores that treat the choice as one-time setup rather than an annual review end up paying for the wrong shape of subscription. Deliverability failures compound the waste — the WeProms walkthrough on order confirmation emails landing in spam covers the sender-reputation side of that bill.

What Pakistani businesses should do instead

Run the sends math before running any trial. Omnisend’s analysts state the decision rule plainly:

“Calculate your monthly sends. Multiply your contact count by how many emails you send per contact each month. If you send only a few emails per contact, Brevo pricing will come out cheap; if you send a lot, contact-based pricing might work better.” — Omnisend, Brevo Pricing 2026

Applied to a real list, the math flips fast. Take 2,500 contacts emailed eight times a month — a normal cadence for a store running welcome flows, abandoned-cart recovery, and one campaign. That is 20,000 sends: USD 69 on Brevo Standard (about PKR 19,320) versus USD 59 on Omnisend Pro (about PKR 16,520), and Omnisend Pro’s sends are unlimited. Klaviyo starts at USD 20 for 500 profiles, and 20,000 contacts cost about USD 375 on its email plan — which is why plenty of Pakistani stores end up leaving Klaviyo as their lists grow. Mailchimp’s Standard plan opens at USD 20 for 500 contacts. MailerLite undercuts all of them for plain newsletters without the ecommerce stack.

The defensible claim, stated flat: any Pakistani store emailing more than four times a month pays less on contact-based pricing within a year, and gets the abandoned-cart and back-in-stock flows Brevo gates at USD 499 for USD 16 to 59 instead. Brevo wins exactly one profile — the large, rarely-mailed list — and for that profile it wins big. If your store fits that profile, keep the free plan and spend the savings on flows that stop checkout losses elsewhere.

The platform fee is the small number anyway. The flows decide the return: welcome series, abandoned cart, win-back, and post-purchase sequences typically out-earn any subscription cost by an order of magnitude when built correctly. Pakistan’s top email marketing automation agency WeProms Digital builds those flows on Brevo, Klaviyo, and Omnisend for stores across Lahore, Karachi, and beyond — we start with the sends math above, pick the platform the numbers justify, and publish our pricing bands on the pricing page. Frequently Asked Questions

Is Brevo’s free plan enough for a small Pakistani business?

For the first 2,000 contacts, yes. The free plan sends 300 emails a day, stores 100,000 contacts, and includes basic automation up to 2,000 contacts, which covers a welcome flow for most new stores. The moment your automations need to reach more than 2,000 people or you want abandoned-cart recovery with coupons, the free plan stops being enough.

Can I pay for Brevo in PKR?

No. Brevo bills in USD (or EUR) on an international card, so every invoice converts at your bank’s rate plus any foreign transaction fee. At USD 499, card friction alone can exceed PKR 7,000 a month. Budget the PKR cost of the plan at roughly PKR 280 per dollar plus 3 to 5 percent for conversion charges.

Which email tool should a Daraz or Shopify store use for abandoned carts?

For Shopify and WooCommerce stores, Klaviyo and Omnisend both include abandoned-cart flows from their entry tiers — USD 20 and USD 16 a month respectively. Brevo reaches comparable ecommerce automation only on its USD 499 Professional plan. Stores with cash-on-delivery-heavy order books get more from Omnisend’s pricing as their list grows.

Why did my Brevo bill go up without warning?

Brevo auto-upgrades subscriptions when you exceed your send or contact limits instead of blocking the campaign. The extra sends deliver normally, and the higher tier bills silently. Check Plan and Billing before every large campaign, and set internal alerts at 80 percent of your limits.

What does WeProms charge to set up email automation?

WeProms publishes PKR pricing bands for email automation setup on the pricing page, covering platform selection, flow building, and list migration. Setup scopes start smaller than most owners expect because the platform fee, not the labor, is usually the largest line item. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies to the build.
