How Amazon’s A10 algorithm actually ranks your products

Amazon’s search engine — commonly called the A10 algorithm — does not reward the same signals Google does. It weights sales velocity and conversion history above almost everything else: a listing that converts browsers into buyers climbs the search results, and one that stops converting drops. Relevance still matters, but it’s judged through the words in your title, bullets, and backend search terms, and how well they match what shoppers actually type. Our Amazon SEO work is built around that loop — put the right keywords in front of the right shoppers, lift conversion, and let the algorithm reinforce the gain.

We work with Amazon Seller Central accounts selling on the US, UK, UAE, and European marketplaces, including Pakistan-based sellers and international brands that want execution from our Lahore and Karachi team.

What gets optimized inside a listing

Every Amazon product detail page has a fixed set of fields, and most sellers underuse them. We optimize each one:

  • Product title — the single biggest keyword signal, rewritten to lead with the primary search term while staying readable on mobile, where Amazon truncates early.
  • Five bullet points — features reframed as benefits, each front-loaded with a secondary keyword from the research.
  • Backend search terms — the hidden 250-byte field, stripped of duplicates, commas, and wasted characters that Helium 10’s Scribbles flags.
  • A+ Content — for Brand Registered sellers, comparison modules and lifestyle graphics that lift conversion and cut returns.
  • Variations and attributes — size, color, and material fields filled out so Amazon can surface your item in filtered results.

We don’t guess at keywords. The research layer pulls from three sources: the Amazon Brand Analytics Search Term Report (real shopper queries, available if you’re Brand Registered), Helium 10 Cerebro (reverse-ASIN lookup on competitor listings), and Magnet (broad keyword expansion). We weigh each term’s search volume against its relevance, then map every keyword to a slot in the listing — primary term to the title, secondary terms to bullets, long-tail and adjacent terms to the backend.

Generic keyword tools built for Google won’t help here. Amazon search demand behaves differently, and the only reliable volume numbers come from Amazon’s own data and Helium 10’s Amazon-specific index.

Before we publish, we run an indexation check with Helium 10’s Cerebro and Keyword Tracker, so we know which of your target terms Amazon is actually surfacing the ASIN for and which ones slipped through.

How Amazon PPC feeds organic ranking

This is the part most agencies split into a separate service and bill twice for. Sponsored Products sales feed directly into your organic position — the A10 algorithm reads ad-driven purchases as a conversion signal and lifts the ASIN. So your SEO and your Amazon Ads have to share one keyword map. When we optimize a listing, we flag the terms worth bidding on in Sponsored Products to build sales velocity, then reduce ad reliance as organic ranks take over. If another team runs your Amazon Ads, we hand them the keyword priority list.

How we track ranking and indexation

Amazon Seller Central tells you your sales, but it won’t tell you where your listing sits for “stainless steel water bottle.” We track that ourselves. Each engagement includes a monthly report covering:

  • Organic keyword rankings across your tracked ASINs and marketplaces.
  • Indexed keyword count — how many of your target terms Amazon is surfacing.
  • Best Seller Rank movement inside your category.
  • Unit session percentage (Amazon’s conversion rate) from your Business Reports, tied back to the listings we changed.

We pull this alongside your advertising data into a Looker Studio dashboard or your existing reporting, so paid and organic sit side by side instead of in two separate tabs.

This work fits Amazon sellers who already have live listings that underperform — sitting on page two or three for their main term, or converting below category norms. It isn’t a fit for a brand that hasn’t launched yet; there’s nothing to optimize until a listing exists and has sales data to read. If you’re a Pakistan-based seller on Amazon US or UAE, or an international brand that wants a cost-effective team running ongoing listing optimization, this is built for you.

Most engagements start within one to two weeks of a listing audit. We pull your top ASINs into Helium 10, review titles, bullets, backend terms, and A+ Content, and come back with a prioritized optimization plan. Tell us about your Amazon catalog and we’ll start with the audit.
